S.O.T.D Saturday 29th June to Friday 5th July 2013

Wednesday night

Razor : Fatip Grande
Blade : Polsilver SI
Croap : fitness For Men
Brush : C&E Super badger
Balm : Clinique soother

Third shave with the Polsilver and now binned. Ok blade, exceptional first shave followed by 2 good shaves but wouldn't push it to a fourth shave. Not sure if it's bulk buy yet as can't see it offering more than some of my favourite blades and they cost a fair bit more.

Afternoon, everyone.

Thursday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Weishi
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (6)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: Arko stick
A/S: Pashana slash

A good, close to close shave. I'm pleasantly surprised but I suppose a week's practice will help with technique. Still took ages, though.

Thursday 4th July

Warm shower
Hot flannel
Speick cream scuttle lathered
Simpson Tulip 1 super badger brush
Gillette 1934 NEW 2 piece OC
Sputnik (2)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
Speick aftershave

A lovely close and comfortable shave. I don't know what went wrong with the lather. I had a mountain in the scuttle the handle of the Tulip was almost lost in it. A little too much water I'm guessing  :icon_redface:

Thursday morning

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
MWF Soap
Men u boar brush
EJ DJ89
Sputnik blade
Witch hazel gel
King of shaves moisturiser

Good shave today, sputnik blade improves on second shave and becomes much smoother, MWF always drys out m skin but the KOS soon sorted this out

This afternoon:
Bulldog face wash, hot flannel
Progress on 3; Gillette yellow
Arko
Coate's Fitzwilliam
Speick balm

Not a bad shave but still trying to get used to the long handle of the Progress. Prefer my 34HD.

Warm Shower & 3P Cream
Gillette Tech
Yellow 7 o'clock (2)
Semogue 1305
DR Harris Almond shaving cream
Witch Hazel
Bluebeards ASB

This tech is quite strange it gets my neck smoother than my other razors, but not my cheeks?

Warm rinse today
Tobs coconut
Best badger
Super adjustable at 6
7 oclock yellow (2)
Alum
Proraso green as splash

3 passes extremely close and smooth shave. Been 3 days since my last shave and now my face feels refreshed.

Weber Polished, Bulldog
Gillette Bleue Extra (4)
Semogue SOC 2-band
Martin de Candre scented
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Diptyque Philosykos edp

Good shave. I ought stop dicking around with a fourth pass just for the sake of using up excess lather - but it feels such a waste! The answer is to load less heavily still, of course, but MdC's explosive stuff. I've only shaved with it a few times but I can already appreciate why it's so highly rated.

Prep: Cold Water Splash
Razor: Weber Bulldog DLC
Blade: 7 O'Clock Perma Sharp (2)
Brush: SOC Boar
Soap: Lea
Post: Witch Hazel Splash
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue Splash

A lovely, 2 pass, cold water, face lather shave.

I've been doing a test lather every day for the last week or so with the SOC, it's starting to break in now.

Thursday 4th July

Prep: Hot shower.
Brush: NF2213
Cream: TOBS Rose- face lathered
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Gillette Superthin (2)
Post: Witch hazel, Steves Bay Rum, RSC Post Shave Balm.

An ok shave really, but not a big fan of this blade. The second use of it wasn't great, it felt a bit tuggy. It didn't leave irritation or anything but just didn't feel great. Still a smooth finish in the end, but not a blade I'll buy in bulk. Cannot fault any other part of the shave. Think I'll bin this blade now.

THURSDAY EVENING

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Kai Excelia
Blade: Feather Proguard
Brush: Neep malachite Aztec
Cream: Fitjar Shea Pleasure cream - scuttle lathered
Post: Witch hazel and Bulldog balm

Best shave with this yet. A Tony the Tiger Grrrreeeaaatttt!!
