[attachment=7606]

Slant for the first pass as I had so much growth! Weber for the rest, BBS!

Prep: Warm rinse with biotherm face wash
Razor: Merkur 34c HDt
Blade: Personna Blue (4)
Brush: ES best badger
cream : TOBS coconut face lathering
Post: Alum - Proraso green AS splash - bepanthol cream

Great shave, 3 passes ( 1 WTG - 2 XTG) very smooth.

This is the first time I ve used a blade for the 4th time and no drug, no nothing. Personna's prove to be a very good blade, sharp enough. Will not be using it for a 5th shave as cost is too low and does not need to push the sharpness of it to the limits testing it on my skin :)

Overall great shave !

Keep a tin of blue goo to smear on the mirror as it keeps the condensation at bay!

A use for it! That will help me out. I got a couple of tins for Christmas, but also got my DE set up from another family member, so they've been just sitting there ever since. Currently I use hand wash on the mirrors, does the trick.

Thanks for that.

Thursday evening

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
Mitchells wool fat soap
New Forest 1901
Muhle R41 (pass around)
Gillette yellow (2)
Alum/witch hazel gel
Nivea face balm

Nice slow enjoyable shave - R41 treated with lots of respect and a good, if not brilliant, result. I will have one more go with this and then it will be on its way again.

Today's shave was my first ever with a R41 (2013). I used a Gilette Silver Blue and BlueBeards Revenge cream. Damn close shave, although I still had to go ATG to get clean under my chin / jawline. This'll be my travel razor as the Merkur I have been using is far too mild. Finished off with the DR Harris Pink milk, seems to work very well but I find the Rose smell a bit too cloying - think it'll be making an appearance on BST soon.

Proraso White Pre
Proraso Green whipped up with a Kent Silvertex brush
Gillette Black Beauty Long Handle setting 3 then 4
Treet Platinum blade(1)
Alum
Thayers
Proraso Balm
Aqua de Gio edt

This was the first shave of a series I'm doing to try out new (to me) blades. Using the excellent blade review spreadsheet by our very own Not The Stig, I worked out a schedule to try my collection of 28 different blade brands in an organised manner. I simply took NTS's score and divided it by the best price I could find for 100 blades and the resulting number gives me a 'bangs-per-buck' running order. The Treets at only £0.07 per blade and a decent TSR score came top. I'm going to see how long it takes to get through two blades before going on to the next make. Should be fun!
