I will do a review on the British fat handle tech tomorrow morning in this new thread.(Also posted on Paste&Cut)
28/08/24 Wednesdays Evening
Great shave tonight from the Gillette fat handled tech.
- Razor Gillette Fat Handle Tech(British) 1940s
- Blade Vidyut Super-Max Platinum(India)
- Pre-Shave Hot Shower
- Brush B&B Synthetic
- Soap Proraso E/M
- Aftershave Proraso E/M
The super Max platinum blades purchased online about 15 years ago not sure if their still around.
Gave a good shave with little effort 1 pass WTG 1 ATG Finished.
I found the Proraso Eucalyptus menthol soap left my skin feeling really refreshed
I think the eucalyptus menthol aftershave was a bit of an overkill, As the feeling of freshness got a bit overpowering after a while.
All I know it was a great combination.
Cheers all.

Lovely razor mate If you feel like can you do review on the new Thread?Razor - Rockwell 6S R3
Blade - Gillette Perma-Sharp
Brush - Simpson M6
Lather - NSS Moroccan Sands
The agony and the ecstasy.
I thought the shave was a bit mild, then realised that I’d put the plate in the Rockwell the wrong way round. Rather stupidly, I tried to swap it back with soapy hands… and it was Nanny’s soap too… very slidey. So I put a great slice in my thumb which just bled and bled.
It was a shame as I was on track for a near-perfect two-pass shave. Despite my discombobulation I got a handsome result, just two tiny nicks and zero irritation. The Proraso glue in the photo was for my thumb, not my face.
Can’t wait to try out the razor/blade combo next time.
Erm… I also have to ‘fess up I was in the pub at lunchtime… didn’t affect my judgment at all.
Life is difficult when you can’t use an opposable thumb… no wonder dogs never took over the world.

If for whatever reason that razor disappoints Mike - I have a favourable naughty spot it can take.Razor = Occam’s Potato Peeler ***
Blade = Feather Pro Guard ( 6 ) I Think
Brush = Highlander Hibernian Away 26mm SHD
Soap = Signature Hibernian
with matching splash.
Balm = Executive Shaving Fragrance Free.
View attachment 124506What a top drawer shave from some wonderful ingredients.
Every thing in this set up i love.
Another soap i’ll never be without as long as it’s available.
The Simplicity of this razor never fails to disappoint
it just does everything the way it should be done.
No worries about pressing to hard,
no worries about angles or weepers or anything else it just works without having to think and that’s pretty good for a thicko like me.
The less i have to think the less my brain hurts

Thank you so much, it really means a lot to me to hear this.26 August
Signature Soaps Capra DevaThe Martin de Candre soap that I used yesterday is an excellent soap but this Signature Soaps Capra Deva betters it. A fantastic lather this morning created with my least expensive Chubby. I was so impressed. The Executive Shaving razor did an equally impressive job with the shave, two passes and I was smooth for the day ahead.
Simpson Chubby 2 (Sovereign Fibre)
Claymore Evolution
Feather Professional
Proraso Sensitive balm
