Warm shower
Hot flannel
Sir Irisch moos cream scuttle lathered
Simpson Harvard 4 best badger brush
Gillette Aristocrat 16
Rapira Chrome (1)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
Sir Irisch moos aftershave balsam

Comfortable, close shave today. First time out with the Aristocrat 16. It was more noisy than I imagined it would be. Very pleased with todays result. :)

shaving with this wedge is fun, almost to sharp for its waight ^^ needed to hold back on it abit.

Cyril Salter Vetiver
Mason & Pearson Pure
Feather Portable
Personna Med Blue
Lucky Tiger
Loccataine Vetyver

First outing for the Mason & Pearson, as advised it is a bit on the floppy side. That said it whipped up a great lather using cream. I did a few test lathers before and it wasn't that good on hard soap. It is a very nice brush to hold it fits in the hand very well.

Great shave and a " What's that aftershave, it's nice" ? From SWMBO

back to the usual suspects -

*Erasmic shave cream
*Merkur 43C
*Isana boar brush

pre - shower
7o'clock yellow (1)
alum
witch hazel
aloe vera moisturiser

back to erasmic. the more i use it the more i like it. the yellow was a lot sharper than i remember but it settled down by the 3rd pass. i felt like this was a "real" DE shave as the process of beard reduction was more evident - i usually get most of it off in the 1st pass! super smooth finish.

Gillette Sensor Excel (6)
Kent BLK8 silvertip
Mitchell's Wool Fat
Proraso blue balm
Diptyque Vetyverio

Mediocre shave - I think the cartridge is showing signs of coming to its end. The Kent's a pillowy soft brush that doesn't tend to work well when face lathering soap. Tonight was no exception.

I'm not particularly taken with Diptyque's take on vetiver; the rose is too soapy and takes it slightly too far to the feminine side of 'unisex' on my skin. It's pleasant, and I'll happily finish the sample, but I much prefer Guerlain's Vetiver if I were to buy.

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Cadman & Sons Bengal, 6/8", restored by UKRob
Brush: Neep #1156 cocobolo chubby 24mm extra silvertip
Soap: Prof Blighty's Rosewood

I am particularly fond of this razor.

Hot Shower & 3P cream
Schick Krona
Gillette Yellow 7 o'clock (2)
Ingrams (cream of the week)
NF2213
Witch Hazel / Bay Rum mix
Burberry AS
Bluebeards Revenge ASB

A very nice close shave from the Krona, dusted off the new forest brush to use with the Ingrams for its second outing of the week. A nice cool menthol shave.

MRGLO
iKon OSS (kindly borrowed from a generous member)
Astra SP (4)
DR Harris Windsor Soap
Chinese 24 mm Pure
Superdrug Forest Fresh A/S

Another stellar performance from the iKon. Gave the Ingram's a rest tonight to test the iKon with a soap.

TUESDAY EVENING

Prep: Hot flannel
Razor: CJB Kamisori \ Cobra Classic
Blade: Feather Proguard (1) \ Feather Professional (4)
Brush: Simpsons PJ 2 band
Soap: Sir Irisch Moos stick - face lathered
Post: Witch hazel and IK balm

Much, much easier with a Proguard. Did two really good WTG passes, so got cocky and did an ATG pass.

Not a good idea. Managed to nick my adams apple and just under my ear. Have been applying the styptic pencil like a bastard!

Also had to tidy up with the Cobra so my face is glowing a tad.

I think I'll have to stick to WTG passes for a wee while until I get my eye in.

I didn't see if you tried that Proguard blade in the Cobra. That's the one I woulda started with.

Did you see the Good Doctor taunting me with his razor recently?

Brush: Wilkinson Sword
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade: Shark super stainless
Bowl: Robert Dyas lidded ramekin inside a large cup

Despite what people say about the WS hardware I like the Classic razor, it gives a very mild smooth shave. The brush is pretty good too.
