S.O.T.D. Saturday 15th June to Friday 21th June 2013 ...

Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort shaving cream
MÜHLE Silvertip Fibre
Gillette 'fat handled' Tech
Polsilver Super Iridium
Bulldog ASB
Unrefined Shea Butter

The blade was a loose one in my stash, I used it as a control blade as it was the first time I'd used the Tech. I shouldn't have. Not finding the T&H either ultimate nor comfortable. Resulting shave was patchy and uncomfortable, hence the shea butter even though the Bulldog did a pretty good job.

Warm shower
Tobs almond
Best badger
Merkur 34c hd
Alum block
Bay rum

Great smooth shave, almost BBS

T&H 1805 with a little butterscotch fragrance oil
Edwin Jagger boar
New with Schick blade dated 2001 (second shave)
T&H 1805 balm

BBS with a couple if chin nicks. Itching quite a bit now it's all done. Probably the f.o. although it was fine last time.

I decided to go nice and basic this week. Van Der Hagen Glycerin, melted into a repurposed old deodorant container, worked amazingly well as a shave stick. A nice three pass wtg/atg/xtg shave with mild irritation on my neck and jaw line (which was mostly taken care of with some witch hazel) and a small nick on my upper lip (which happened during an unfortunately timed hiccup). A DFS and a new set up for the week.

Pre: Hot shower and warm water splash
Razor: Union Cutlery 5/8
Brush: AoS Fine Badger
Soap: VDH Glycerin in shave stick form
Post: Cold water rinse followed by T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel

MONDAY EVENING

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Kai Excelia \ Gillette Parat
Blade: Feather Proguard \ Personna Med Prep
Brush: Muhle V2 Synthetic
Soap: Cella - bowl lathered
Post: Witch hazel and T&H 10 balm

Two WTG passes with the kamisori and an ATG pass with the Parat have given a very nice finish. Not BBS but still good.

I really wanted to try a synthetic. It's OK, not stand out amazing, but it lathered the Cella OK. I'll see how I get on for the rest of the week.

Cella is a standout performer for me though. I will be getting more when it runs out.

this month i've been using cella, nf2213 and my slim

fantastic combination. my Polsilver SI has lasted 7 shave so far and is still going strong! maybe the mild setting on the slim is helping preserve it?
