As good as the vintage Schick Ultra Platinum except half the longevity.

Hi Carl,

Was just wondering, how old are the Schick Ultra Platinums? I still have some left from a pack from yourself when I first started. I showed a friend the dispenser the other day as I thought it was cool, and he asked how old they are. I haven't a clue so wondered if you could shed some light on the subject?

Thanks mate.

Wednesday 19th

Prep: Hot Towels
Soap: Coates Tea Tree
Brush: Wee Scot
Razor: 39C Slant
Blade: Treet Platinum
After: Prof. Blighty's Lime Balsam

Quick(ish) single pass due to needing to be somewhere and not having the luxury of a leisurely shave. Not quite BBS but good enough!

Wednesday morning

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
Arko stick, face lathered
Omega brush
Merkur progress @3
Dorco Platimum blade(1)
Alum/ witch hazel gel
Proraso after shave

A good shave for this cheap blade, first time I've used it, but probably not as good as other blades in the same price range.

Wednesday:

La Toja cream
Semogue SOC Boar
Ever Ready Streamline
Gem blade
Witch Hazel
TOBS Mr. Taylor's AS
Penhaligon's Endymion EdC

Great shave. The Streamline is fantastic, one of my favourites. Effortless BBS.

First time with an injector - I don't think they're for me.

It gave a fine shave but feels too light/small for my tastes. They do seem like a combination between modern cartridge razors and DEs. I know they have quite a dedicated following, but I don't think they're for me. I'll probably sell the two I have.

Tuesday evening

Razor : Muhle R41
Blade : Personna Lab Blue
Brush : C&E super badger
Soap : Proraso Gren tub
Splash : Proraso

Nice close shave but 2 days of the R41 on the bounce does seem to make the skin feels a litle sensitive. Some 15 hours since shaving and I'm just getting some stubble coming through. 2nd shave with the Lab blue as well. Really need to try it in a milder razor I think to judge it better. the shave with this combo is close and sharp but not quite as smooth as with an Astra or Gillette Yellow.

Afternoon, everyone.

Wednesday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Yuma, shimmed
Blade: Dorco 300 (5)
Brush: The Soap Shed Super Badger
Shave cream: Weleda
A/S: Caldey Abbey
Cologne: Caldey Abbey
