S.O.T.D. Saturday 15th June to Friday 21th June 2013 ...

Thursday:

La Toja cream
Omega silvertip
Ever Ready Streamline
Gem blade
Witch Hazel
Indian Old Spice AS

I used the La Toja cream again this morning because it was so nice yesterday, it didn't disappoint. Lathered it with my rarely used Omega silvertip, it's certainly a different experience to the Semogue boar and boar/badger mix I normally use. Very nice, just different.

Effortless BBS shave.

Thursday morning

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
New forest 1901
Mitchells wool fat soap
Gillette aristocrat #66
Dorco Platimum blade (2)
Alum/witch hazel gel
Blue stratos after shave
T&h no. 10 balm

First go with this razor which has been passed to me by my father in law who was given it in 1959! Good shave but Dorco blade seemed to dull during the shave and finish not as good as I hoped. MWF does seem to leave my face very dry, so needed some balm before i Felt comfortable.

Morning, all.

Thursday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Yuma, shimmed
Blade: Dorco 300 (6)
Brush: The Soap Shed Super Badger
Shave soap: Blue "Strattos"
A/S: Blue Stratos
Cologne: Blue Stratos

Nice and smooth.

wasn't in a good mood and couldn't be bothered whipping up a lather so i just used a shave oil and my gillette sensor

very effective and took about 4 minutes from wetting the face to drying it!

joe might be on to something!

Have a nice day!

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: CJB kamisori, Feather Pro blade
Brush: Neep #1287 cobalt blue tulip horsehair
Cream: Truefitt and Hill #10

Very good clean shave.

Wednesday night

Razor : Timor
Blade : Treet durasharp
Brush : C&E super badger
Soap : Wilkinson Sword blue bowl
Balm : Clinique post shave

I'm not sure the Timor/Treet combo removed any stubble but I still don't get why the Wilkinson Sword blue bowl soap gets such bad press, easily enough nice lather for 3 passes and plenty left afterwards. I've nearly managed to empty a bowl of the stuff :icon_razz:

Today's shave

Muhle R41
Feather Blade
Kent BK4 Brush
NSS Citrus Zinger (Face Lathered)
No.4711. Cologne

Just for a few seconds I'd forgotten just how to drive this razor.....to late weepers from this blood thirsty little shit  The rest shave was good....... Result BSS WTG.

Prep face wash L'Occitane sandalwood soap
Razor Japanese Gold Rex full hollow 13/16
Strop Kanayama cordovan #8000
brush Semogue OC boar
GFT Coconut oil shaving cream
Alum & Thayers rose & aloe witch hazel toner
Kiehl's aftershave balm
Kiehl's original musk blend No 1 Edt

The Gold Rex is proving to be another quality shaver, as is the case with most vintage Japanese razor.

Thursday 20th June

Prep: Hot shower, face scrub.
Brush: NF2213 48mm loft.
Soap: Palmolive stick, straight to face- face lathered (obviously ).
Razor: EJ89.
Blade: Rapira Swede (5) single shim.
Post: Witch Hazel.

Perfect shave. 2 ATG passes, and I'm BBS :D

Very happy. I'm really enjoying using the stick as it was intended. I never expected to do so but thought I'd give it a go, and it really is good. I think I'm going off of soaps in a bowl, as creams and sticks are less faff when face lathering.

If you've shaved with a DE for a while, and then go back to a cartridge, it can often be a very pleasant surprise.
