Soap: Sir Irisch Moos stick (face lathered)

Not used a DE for several weeks now and was contemplating downsizing my collection.

However.............the above delivered a superb shave. The equal of any I've had recently.

So, the downsizing has been put on indefinite hold! (I doubt I could have parted with my Aristocrats anyway, and the Darwin and Eclipse won't be going anywhere!)

George Wostenholm & Sons IXL Peerless, 11/16 Full Hollow, Round Point

George Wostenholm & Sons is just another fine Sheffield brand I have always loved. Their IXL razors are absolutely nice and very keen. Smooth and sharp, this old razor is still capable of providing a superb shave. I also like Italian almond shaving soaps and this Saponeria Artigiana has an absolutely charming smell, however being a very good soap. Aqua Velva, a classic in shaving, is an aftershave bringing very good old memories to my mind and, despite its fragrance may be considered as vintage, I love it!

  • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
  • Soap: Saponeria Artigiana Almond
  • Brush: Focus 103 Bristle

Warm shower
Hot towel
Mike's Barbershop scuttle lathered
Finest Badger brush made by myself
Gillette Super Adjustable short handle (S2 1972) on 5/6
Gillette Platinum Vintage 1976 (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Superhazel
Aqua Velva Musk aftershave

A shave with a 1970's theme (razor and blade).
I started off with the razor on 5 and opened it up to 6 for the rest of the shave a setting which suits me better.
The vintage blade smooth and sharp. I can see what the love of these old blades is all about now. One blade I will use sparingly !

Prep: cold water splash
Soap: MWF
Brush: Semogue 620
Razor: Merkur Progress (2.5)
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel

Another great shave with these blades.
Love the feel of the Progress, the almost square handle just wish it had a bit more grip.
Now of someone made a progress with a textured handle I would be first on the list...

Still using "The Sidewinder" for the rest of this week.
It's a fun razor that gives a very decent shave. Not as efficient/clean shave as some of my other razors but still not bad at all.
And, it makes up for it by its looks and face-feel from those roller guards :)

Razor: "Sidewinder"
Blade: Ladas
Brush: SOC Boar
Soap: Arko (in old vintage stick container)
A/S: Provence Sante

SOTD - Thurs
Cream: Miller Harris "Feuilles de Tabac"
Brush: Paladin PK-47 2-band
Razor: Ikon DLC Slant w/SE handle
Blade: NOS Polsilver (2)
Post: Thayer's Original witch hazel, followed by USB & Miller Harris "Feuilles de Tabac" EdT
Wow, what a shave. This cream isn't thirsty at all, but whips up nice and fragrant with just a damp brush. Slick 2-1/2 pass BBS. The EdT complements the cream scent nicely. It's a great "green" Fougere-like scent (to me).
