Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Reef Point Peerless
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair 13061M
Razor: Stahly head + templ8 handle
Blade: Feather (3) + PAL shim
After: Floid Black AS, Dove ASB

First use of this Reef Point Peerless soap, described by the maker as having a woodsy, tobacco and bay leaf scent and I would agree with that. This the complete opposite end of the spectrum to yesterday's Razorock XXX scent which was much more perfumy. So I'd describe this Peerless soap as an earthy manly scent which I like a lot. I definitely sense the bay leaves; and the tobacco seems a lighter, sweeter scent than other tobaccos scented soaps I've used, maybe it's green tobacco. It goes very nicely with the Floid black AS and seems to have a lot in common scent-wise.
It's not an overpowering scent but continues throughout the shave. I can see this this scent will split opinions but if you like earthy scents I'd recommend it.
Lathering was very good, no problems there at all and good conditioning to boot.

DFS result and if it weren't for the odd missed whisker under my chin it would've been a BBS.

Have a great Sunday folks.

Cheers Ben shaves pretty much as good as it looks as well.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded butterscotch Simpsons best
King Cobra/Feather Pro Guard
RL Safari SS
Old Spice Whitewater AS (thanks NTS)
Roger& Gallett L'Homme 'Sport' EdT (description on package back is vetiver, woodsy, and amber notes)

Tried this Pro Guard blade with the KC and man, it helps the shave. Feels a little milder on my face with more room for error. Comfort level is higher than the Pro blade.

Heh, I could see having this razor as a pleasant option in the arsenal. Thanks to Johnus for providing the blade for the successful test drive.

BBS results,

Martin

Very clean and close, although fore some reason this portuguese badger brush needs more time to load enough lather.

Cheers!

Mastro Livi Inox "Grifone"

What a shave! I knew I like this Mastro Livi stainless steel, the very same used for Grifetto, and this artisan made straight razor is just spectacular. Simply confirming the excellent quality of this stainless steel, particularly selected for Grifetto, it is the former "sperimental inox" Mastro Livi used for some of his razors before starting the production of his Grifetto. I have been the very first one to test this stainless steel and it has been love at first sight. That's why I wanted a totally hand made straight razor made from this steel. I absolutely love my new Grifone razor, as well as Mastro Livi Grifetto!

Castle Forbes Lavender Cream
Tyzack of Old Street London 5/8
Kangaroo Travel Strop

This was my first razor off eBay, it cost me £10 and I have very fond memories of the company Tyzacks from the area I live in and when I was in the furniture making trade when I was young.
The tool shop still exists to this day :)
Check out the date on that box, 29/9/1900
Just to add, it provides a shave up there with my best razors.
