S.O.T.D. Saturday 9th June to Friday 14th June 2013 ...

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave (sensitive)
Soap: Palmolive cream + Grapefruit EO
Brush: Muhle 'HJM' Synthetic
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Razor: Merkur Slant 37c
Blade: Rapira SS (1)
After: Alum, Superdrug Sierran Breeze AS, Bluebeard's Revenge ASB

Freestyle week for me. I'd forgotten how good Palmolive cream was; dead easy to lather, no hard-water issues, performs great. I could use it everyday.

Like a ninja in the night I never felt the Slant do its work. Excellent irritation-free BBS, no need for the alum actually. This razor/blade combination is a winner for me.

Afternoon, everybody.

Monday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Yuma, shimmed
Blade: Astra SP (3)
Brush: Vulfix Grosvenor Bodger
Shave sopa: Arko stick
A/S: Homemade Mugler Cologne
Cologne: Mugler Cologne

Nice, easy shave.

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: J. A. Henckels 72 1/2, 6/8"
Brush: Neep #1145 onyx chess pawn 26mm extra silvertip
Soap: D R Harris lavender

Lovely comfortable shave from the Speick products.

A British affair ...

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest Tubby 2
Razor: Mapping and Webb the Shilling Razor w custom scales made by UkRob
Soap: Nannys French Lavender
AS: Floris, Santal
Edt: Penhaligon's Castile
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

I'm very pleased how this razor turned out, original scales was crap and there was some pitting close to the edge at the heal, but after two honing sessions it delivers like a champ. The brother blade, from a twin box and with lovely original scales, are on it's way to an US BOTS - Brother Of The Shaves :D

... and a nice cup of java completes the shave excellent

Hot flannel
Proraso pre, green
New Forest 1901, Speick stick (soap of the week)
Merkur Progress (#2.5), Personna Red (3)
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave soother

Excellent close and comfortable shave. The Progress now seems to be my "go-to" rather than the Weber (and that's saying something)... but think I may just experiment and nudge it up to setting #3 next time.
Enjoyed the Speick... always do. I'm very tempted to get some Speick cream for travel.

muhle r41
perma sharp
shavemac #25 silvertip
dr harris almond shaving cream
rose of bulgaria AS

very nice and very close shave. first time with the rose of bulgaria and i have to say it really is lovely stuff. rosewater, menthol and glycerin in the ingredients and its not at all overpowering, my skin feels soft and soothed, im very impressed.

Glad it's going well for you knowing how much you rate the Weber.

Today's shave:

Hot face splash
Weber Polished/Bulldog
Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3)
MWF F.L.
24mm TGN Finest
Alum

3 Pass shave with some sting from alum with few weepers but for some reason this blade leaves neck without the normal irritation from many other blades. BBS this a.m. and still mostly so. :)

Gillette New
Lab Blue (1)
SOC 2-band
Speick cream
Proraso ASL

Diptyque Tam Dao

I've been using various cartridge and disposable razors since Christmas - none really rivals my two-piece New for a close, calm and even quick shave. I don't really think any of my other DEs do either. One or two possibly do. A very genuine BBS tonight.

Speick shaving stick (soap of the week)
Henk walnut silvertip
Progress on 2, 1 with Winn Dixie
Superdrug Forest Fresh a/s

Swapped the blade for a new one as it wasn't getting enough off. New blade is better but these aren't super sharp. They are good and smooth but not coated so you can feel their edge more than those fancy platinum, chrome etc.

MONDAY EVENING

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Kai Excelia
Blade: Feather Proguard (6)
Brush: Neep Jasper Aztec
Soap: T&H No 10 cream - scuttle lathered
Post: Witch hazel and Bulldog balm

Best shave with this yet. Had to tidy up with the Parat, and didn't do my chin and moustache ATG with it but no major cuts is a big improvement!

Today's shave,
Razor: MÜHLE R41(2011).
Blade: Personna Lab blue. (1)
Brush: Chubby 2.
Cream: Speik.
Aftershave: Hairsuite's own bay rum.
Balm: Agua de Colonia Concentrada Barbería.

The R41 gave a close shave but left a few weepers, it was my first go with the 2011. Hairsuite's bay rum concoction was excellent nice smell and no sting despite the weepers, this maybe because of the styptic match I had used though.
The Agua de Colonia Concentrada Barbería has a very similar scent to Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa to my nose but it's less than half the price and there is 150ml in the bottle as to the 100ml AdP.

Todays shave

GEM Micromatic OC (The Viper)
GEM Blade
Kent BK8 Brush
NSS Cedarwood & Vetyver
Blue Stratos Aftershave Splash

Man It's good to revisit this razor from time to time, and boy am I out of practice with it.
Still archived a BSS, but with a few weepers, and that's just how this razor rolls, take your mind off the job for a millisecond "ouch"

Two days stubble

Hot shower
Proraso white pre
Bluebeard's Revenge shaving soap
Black Beauty short handle on setting 5
Gillette Rubie (4)
Alum
Thayers
Nivea Sensitive Balm

Great blade/razor combo. DFS after two passes.

I've used mine once and I didn't call it The Viper, mine is simply called The Devil!
