John, How are you working the Figaro? I've got a block but not started it yet -are you cutting / pinching a bit off at a time? or have you packed it into a bowl?

French soap week shave #2:

Confiança Redondo pre-shave soap
Hot flannel prep
Proraso menthol & eucalyptus pre
Grosvenor 404 brush reknotted with TGN 2-band fan knot by Rod Neep
Provence Santé Verlaine, face-lathered
Merkur 34c
Ladas Stainless (cannot remember how many shaves:blush:)
Nivea Sensitive ASB

3 passes plus touch-ups, DFS/near-BBS result.

As always, the Verlaine showed its class, a generous, dense, lubricating lather being easy to produce, though, thanks to the heat in this part of the country today, the lather did dry-out a touch on the third pass.

Warm shower
Proraso pre, white
Omega 10219, Cella
Feather AS-D2, Polsilver SI (2)
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave soother

Second go with the AS-D2. An excellent shave. I think the feedback on the Feather (both feel and sound) are understated... once I'd tuned in to that it went wonderfully well... and I did notice that I was using more of an angle than usual. But every bit of your face is different, so it's a question of "feeling the Force, young Skywalker".

Prep: Cold water splash (actually more lukewarm than cold out of the tap today...)
Soap: Speick (grated)
Brush: Simpson Commodore X3
Razor: Weber Polished/Bulldog
Blade: Iridium Super (2)
Post: Speick ASB
EdT: DR Harris Windsor

Prep: Bulldog Face Wash
Razor: Weber Polished Wave
Blade: Rapira Super Stainless (1)
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 Best
Soap: Valobra Stick
Post: Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

Another excellent shave with the Weber. Nice Menthol hit from the Floid in this weather.

French Week Shave #3 for me
Cool Shower & 3P cream
SOC 2 Band
Monsavon
Gillette Rocket HD
Gillette Yellow (?)
Alcolado Glacial

See soap of the week for lathering issues, think this blade was past its best by the 3rd pass so swapped it for another one to finish off.

Alcolado Glacial splashed on face and chest...woooo thats cooling!

HAPPY YORKSHIRE DAY

Prep: Warm shower
Soap: MWF (Yorkshire soap)
Brush: Daz handle knotted by Yorkshireman (Me)
Blade: Jewel (Sheffield)
Razor: Wardonia "Sheffield" handle with unknown "Made in England" Gilette head
A/S: Bay Rum brewed by Yorkshireman (Me again)

Need to find a Yorkshire made brush and a Yorkshire made DE. Not many Jewel blades left, may have to source more......

First pass with 3 days growth tuggy, after that smooth, comfortable DFS shave.....
First go with my late fathers OC Frankenrazor, think it may go for some TLC and a re-plate......

Have a great evening....
