As it’s still freezing, I had another scuttle shave to provide a lovely warm lather. As it’s easier with cream, I went VERY old school and dug out the Palmolive Classic Crème. I overlook the Palmolive, which is a mistake, it’s inexpensive, nicely scented and works very, very well - producing a soft and slick lather. Luckily I have another two unused tubes, underneath the sink.

As one would expect, the Merkur 34C and a Shark blade, worked really well with the crème and I had a perfect, effortless, face-strokingly good shave.

Stay warm people!

Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Shark Super Chrome (2)

There’s nothing new in the world, statements attributed to a few past notables including Shakespeare and The Bible.
So I give you SEGAL unitary DE razor first patented in 1930 and the LEAF Twig from the present. Both need a fettled DE, the SEGAL is a bit more of a fiddle than splitting a blade in half but still quite easy. Both are unitary and twist to open causing the head to lift and rotate. Neat actually, as is the Twig
Razor: SEGAL
Blade: 7 o’clock Super Stainless
Soap: Wickham 1912 “Christmas Spruce”. (With thanks to @Shaveguru)
Brush: ancient bristle

Completed a super smooth 2 pass + p/ups finish with no issues to report. This is one amazing razor.
Dash of Old Spice and off for a quick stroll.
Have a great Friday fellas

Decemboar 16 2022

Pre - Palmolive Sea Minerals
Brush - Omega 10075
Soap - Hampshire Wool Fat No.1 Cedarwood & Patchouli
Razor - Gillette New RFB
Blade - Treet Dura Sharp (1)

I can't remember the last time I used my puck of Hampshire Wool Fat, and with my little Omega 10075 (my favourite boar brush) it produced a delightful lather, and the shave was a very enjoyable one.

The Segal does one extra trick, the cap goes parallel to the stem to load the blade.

Brush: C&H 'Strata Taper'
Soap: Signature Soaps Valentia
Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: GSB
Post: Signature Soaps Valentia

Fantastic shave, the valentia is absolutely amazing, both in scent and performance, lovely stuff. Nice swift shave with the blackbird, I've done a count up and amongst all the razors I have this is the most used and by a fair margin. It's odd as I wouldn't consider it my favourite but clearly it's, at the very least, towards the top of the list.

Hope everyone has a grand day and a good kick off to the weekend.

Cheers

Marc
Thank you Marc that’s kind of you. Love the brush handle!

Prep: Face wash with Simple face wash
Pre: None
Razor: Rockwell 6S (4)
Blade: Gillette 7 o’clock yellow (1)
Brush: Alpha Outlaw
S Soap: House of Mammoth - Alive
Post: House of Mammoth - Alive ASB

The Rockwell never disappoints. For a change I went with plate 4 today. Still a very efficient shave without having to pay too much attention.
I have been using the Rockwell exclusively for six month now. In this time I have acquired a few razors which I am going to start introducing from the new year. Looking forward to it!
A first shave with this BST purchased soap. Without BST I would not be able to afford half of stuff I have so thank you all BST suppliers.
Back to the soap, performance was excellent however the scent may not be quite right up there on my preferred list.

Before last week's posts fade into memory - I wanted to say D, superb picture. My sotd pic of the week by a country mile, several country miles - hands down. A beautifully simple idea - the very hardest ideas to have in my opinion - beautifully executed. Very good indeed. Cheers - I.
