Possibly the most expensive way of testing a new Noble Otter scent, on paper this was a winner for me, thankfully in reality it was too. Lime, bergamot, oakmoss, patchouli and musk a good scent strength and ebay bargain for nearly new. Now to grab the soap! The Signature Soap worked brilliantly as always and cushioned the Vector round the face with ease.

I usually only post here once a week but I tried something a little different and thought I would share.


Began with a hot towel, soaked brush for at least 5 minutes while pre-shave oil did its work. Nice lather from the cream. Tried something a little different and kept the razor in cold water. It could just be my imagination, but I felt I got a better shave. The theory behind it is that a cold blade is less likely to flex than a warm blade is, I'm not a metallurgical expert by any stretch of the imagination but maybe someone who knows more than I can chime in on this. Onward with the shave, first time with a Vikings Blade Cayanne Hot in this razor (Vikings BladeChieftain 5 BC). Wonderful feel and cut, great feedback as well. Three pass shaves with a cleanup pass afterward. Blade Glide Plus between passes. Hot and cold towels after finish. Alum stone, then Clubman aftershave splash and VB balm. Talc used for the final comfort.

An excellent combination of tropical drinks resulting in a great lather with intoxicating scents!
Today's shave with this frameback refreshed on a La Lune with water did not pass the tree topping nor hanging hair test well, but the shave itself was surprisingly good. Could be better I guess. Managed 3 passes for a ccs-sas finish...

Fantastic shave, the valentia is absolutely amazing, both in scent and performance, lovely stuff. Nice swift shave with the blackbird, I've done a count up and amongst all the razors I have this is the most used and by a fair margin. It's odd as I wouldn't consider it my favourite but clearly it's, at the very least, towards the top of the list.

First go out with Stirling Deton-8. The scent is authentic but not very strong compared with other Stirling soaps I have. Performance was first class though.

A bit of an old fashioned wooden effort today.
Face like an eel.
Not sure I actually rate the new Brut EdT, but I wanted to try it and it cost less than a kebab so fair enough. It's OK just not my favourite.
