Midnight cowboys shave at midnight with cowboy soap. (Buttero means mounted cattle wrangler in Italian). Too hot to sleep and I've a relatively early start so I figured I would shave now rather than the morning. AYLM Buttero Italian Leather and Saffron soap, applied with the wee Moka Express synth. Slash and burn duties carried out by the Slim on #5 with a lovely Gillette Silver Blue (3), which might just be my favourite blade (just after I stocked up on Astra SP).

The soap behaves oddly compared to any other I've used, more 'lubricant' than lather, as I discussed in my Straight Razor SotD.
An enjoyable and satisfying shave, cracking smooth finish, and post shave feel, enhanced by bio oil.

Just a beautiful lather from this soap...thickly creamy and slick. The soap and aftershave scent kinda matched and is really light...This razor's edge feels really smooth and crisp...very easy to maneuver and a pleasure to shave with. 2.5passes for a ccs-sas finish...

Brush: Chubby 2 SiLVERTiP
Soap: Fine Latigo
Razor: WR2 1.25
Blade: GSB (3)
Post: Fine Latigo AS & EDT

Well that was a silly choice for a shave, latigo definitely wasn't suited to the weather this morning, still smells nice but sheesh never think that a scent would make me feel warm. In hindsight I could have emptied the Frost drops on the brush, ah well. Think I'll sideline this until autumn.

Despite that had a nice smooth and irritation free finish, so can't grumble.

Hope everyone has a grand day!

Cheers

Marc

It's a bit warm today, the thermometer didn’t drop below 30 degrees upstairs last night. We’re not used to this heat in Yorkshire, Our Granville even took his jumper off. Needed the menthol today and also did a cold water shave. I expect SOTD today will see a flood of menthol related tackle.

The Eboracum sample is still going strong. The peppermint gave an added dimension to the cold water shave, so needed this morning. A very enjoyable two pass shave, and the Nodachi did all that was asked of it. A great start to the day.
