Prep: Proraso white
Soap: Proraso green
Razor: pass around Fatboy
Post: profs ASB

Terrible shave, had a small crap mirror as I've just moved. Couldn't see f-all. Gave up after two passes might have another go tomorrow.

Hot Shower
Village Barber Oil
MWF (soap of the week)
Progress @ 2.5
Omega 10005
Gillette Yellow (3)
Village Barber Balm

Quite surprised by the oil, I did reapply before the 3rd pass as it did seem to have disappeared by then. A BBS shave, even though the MWF lather wasnt as good as it could be.

Proraso pre
Omega 37 Boar
Mike's Barber Shop Soap
Merkur 34c HD

Hot shower
Pro Raso liberally slathered on chops
Cella
Niva Boar brush ( it still stinks after a month)
Slant of unknown origin, on loan from another member
Scottish Perma-Sharp, man these are good! I only have 80 left and am starting to worry I might not find anything as good :-(
Sudacreme for post shave conditioning
Old Spice for splash

Best shave I have had for a while, and the first I have had since my unfortunate accident with the Feather AC. Took a few days to recover from that shave. But tonight was marvellous and I am really pleased with the above combination.

Thursday xxx May, 2013

Prep: Shower, Savon de Provence Shea Butter
Pre: Cold Water Splash
Brush: Kent Infinity Silvertex Synthetic
Soap: Palmolive / La Toja frankensoap
Razor: Merkur 46C Travel in Open Comb mode
Blade: Rapira Super Stainless #1
Post: Alum, Thayer's Medicated WH, Zirh Post Shave Solution
ASL: Givenchy Gentleman

Result: First lather experience with a synthetic brush and I have to say the jury is out at the moment, but I'm travelling all next week so will persevere to give it a fair trial. Frankensoap as good as ever and a lovely smooth shave this morning.

Good day to you all, gents.

Jon

Today's shave:

Prep: Shower
Razor: MÜHLE R89
Blade: Personna Red
Brush: Omega boar
Cream: Balea Sensitive
Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive

I had a good shave, and I was delighted to use my new Omega brush again (my new home brush). My older Vero brush (about 2 years old?) has become my travel brush now. The Vero is soft, and produces loads of lather, but doesn't have the backbone of the Omega boar brushes.

weds night

usual face wash
NSS euclyptus and tea tree soft soap
simpson brush
fatip piccolo
astra sp(2) + lab blue(1)
skin food
t+h sandlewood EdT

second use of the piccolo. either every other day is too soon for me to shave atg or i need to put a fresh or sharper blade than the astra, atg on the rhs of face towards the chin drew a lot of weepers, very tuggy. sawpped for lab blue, a bit better but not perfect. i suspect that a 3 day shave will be better. still impressed with the piccolo.

Thursday:

Mitchell's Wool Fat
Semogue SOC Boar
Aristocrat Jr.
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Witch Hazel
DR Harris Windsor AS

Great lather from the MWF, I'm really enjoying it this week. Great shave from the Jr.

Thursday 30th May

Prep: Hot shower, Dove Men+care Face Scrub
Cream: Groomed cream- Face Lathered
Brush: Omega 10065
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Sputnik #1 (Thanks Brian!)- Single shim
Post: Cold splash, witch hazel, Steves Bay Rum

Lovely shave. The Sputnik blade was so smooth, I barely felt it was there. 2 passes, one XTG, one ATG, and the beard was no more. Thank you Brian for letting me try these blades, a few more shaves and then, if they're anything as good as this shave, I'll look to acquire myself some more from our favourite Russian, Andrey.

Cheers!

Alex

Wednesday night

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
TOBS avacado cream
New Forest 1901
Merkur progress (3.5, 3.0)
Personna Lab blue(1)
Witch hazel gel
Musco no 3 aftershave

Good shave although struggled a bit around the jaw line and not convinced about these, highly rated by others, blades yet.
