Clean shave today. I'm keeping my eye on the Lanolin in the wool fat, use it too much and I get a bit of a red neck :s

Gillette Mach3
Muhle Silvertip Fibre
Barbon shaving cream
Simple Rich moisturiser

I've been using the Palmolive stick but saw two creams in the supermarket earlier for 379 forints (£1.10) each - Figaro and Barbon. Both seem to be made in the same factory in Hungary and distributed from a company here in Budapest. I haven't tried the Figaro yet, but Barbon reminds me of a 'mossier' Palmolive cream - same colour, similar consistency. The hotel has a water softener which makes judging performance tricky. It's no better than the Palmolive stick I've been using here, really, but for a quid...

Tuesday Night

Razor : Timor TTO
Blade : Personna Lab Blue
Brush : C&E super Badger
Soap : MWF (soap of the week)
Splash : Old Spice Whitewater

Gave the timor another run and by far the closest shave yet with it. Second time using a Personna lab Blue blade and I quite like these.

Wednesday ixxx May, 2013

Prep: Shower, Dove Men+Care Facial Scrub
Pre: Cold Water Splash
Brush: Vie-Long Professional Horse Hair Brush
Soap: Dr Dittmar Speziale
Razor: Vintage Unbranded
Blade: English Wilkinson Sword #4
Post: Thayer Lemon WH, Proraso white ASB
ASL: Givenchy Gentleman

Result: Very nice shave, last scrape with this Wilkie. Excellent blade, highly recommended if you can get hold of a few.

Have a nice day, gents.

Jon

Morning, evryone.

Wedesday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Schick Injector E3
Blade: Schick Injector (5)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: QED, Badger and Blade
A/S: Cerruti 1881
Cologne: Cerruti 1881

Again, not bad. No skin irritation and a pretty close shave, but I nicked myself by the corner of my lips. A dab with the stiptic sorted that out.

Greetings

Wednesday 29th May 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Maravilla Travel
Blade: Rapira (Pink & Blue Pkt.)
Brush: Semogue OC Boar
Soap: Lea Stick grated into a container
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)

This little travel razor was a recent e-bay purchase. It is nickle plated brass save for the blade tray which is stamped out of aluminium. It is ultra mild, milder than a Tech by a good bit and it took me endless amounts of touching up to get a close shave.

I was unable to shim the blade as the top cap only touches the blade tray at the edges and thus does not make contact with the shim.

All in all an amusing little novelty but a p**s poor shaver, at least I am not much out of pocket as it was pretty cheap.

Regards
Dick.

Wednesday morning - first shave for almost a week!

Bloody awful!

Gillette Fusion Pro-Glide with Bull Dog gel hand-smeared on!

Following last week's surgery my right arm is totally out of commission so it was a case of needs must. I am not good with my left hand. I can't believe that this was how I used to shave!

At least I was able to finish off with some of the Prof's Yellow Ginger!

Disappointing and cannot wait to get back to my new normal regime!
