Prep: Hot shower, Zirh Alpha Hydroxy Face Wash
Pre: Splash of cold water
Brush: Neep Dreadnought '67
Soap: MdC Fougère
Razor: Gillette M3 Slim Adjustable
Blade: Feather Seikan #2
Post: Alpa Fougère
Fragrance: Knize Forest Toilet Water

Result: Little bit of a shocker this morning. The blade was exceptionally tuggy, until I realised the doors weren't shut tightly. After that it was plain sailing...

All the best,

Jon

Monday AM

Fat Handled English Tech
Derby Extra (2)
Vulfix Grosvenor 404 Bodger
BS Maca Root Cream

Nivea ASB
Cerrutti 1881 EdeT

Three pass, face lathered.

Really enjoying the Derby blades, scary eh? I get the odd weeper but they are really half decent once you get used to handling them. Their problem is that they are generally the first blades we get during the learning and slicing stages.

A bigger worry is that my beloved 404 Bodger has shed 6 hairs this morning; I'll need to keep a eye on this.

Today is my 8th anniversary of using a DE razor regularly. Yep, started off with a Super Adjustable in 2006 and never looked back. Pretty crazy ride.....so far.

Great razor/blade combo and excellent soap for my old geezer birthday shave this morning.

BBS results,

Martin

Mastro Livi Damasco "100 layers", 13/16 Extra Hollow, Square Point

What I love about this razor is the smell of the scales. Juniper wood with its very intense aroma really adds an extra pleasure to the Mastro Livi experience. Not to mention the smoothness of this carbon Damascus steel, personally made by Mastro Livi and made of a total of 100 layers. Smooth, very smooth, absolutely pure velvet, it is a joy to shave with. And, yes, the aroma of juniper wood is absolutely wonderful!

I haven't used a Derby blade for years, and had cleared the house of them. However, I recently received some in a SoTD transaction as an "extra", and I'm going to try one just to see if I or they have improved.

Tried Derby's again a few weeks ago after a couple years practice with other blades. The first one out of the pack was excellent. I was surprised! However the rest were awful. I now use them for scraping algae off my fish tank and model making.
