Needed to wake up this morning, so being at the parents , I had an ice cold shave at 6am by the lake (can see it peeking through the bushes). I'm definitely awake now!

Prep: Groomed face scrub
Shaving soap: Boots "fresh wood" soap bowl
Brush: Men U boar bristle
Blade: Shark super chrome
Razor: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth barley chrome
Post: Toscano black pepper ASB.

A nice shave, plenty of thick rich lather.

Cheap vs Expensive?

Well, I've ditched the Aramis shaving soap and used it to shower with, and started using the Boots shaving soap.

But I used my usual ramekin pot over a large cup of hot water instead of the black plastic bowl the Boots shaving soap comes in.

I gave the brush a good soaking beforehand, as I haven't really used it for 3 years.

Warm shower
Hot flannel
Mike's Pine & Cedarwood bowl lathered
Finest Badger brush made by myself
Gillette Fat Handle Tech (early model made in USA)
Personna Lab Blue (3)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Boots Freshwood aftershave

Today is my final day of shaving with Tech razors. I decided to shave with different Techs for the whole of September.
I've enjoyed my shaves using the various combinations, and no surprise I find my favourite to be the rare Hybrid Tech. The British flat centre is a close second.
Tomorrow I will start the month of October with shaves using open comb razors. I'll start with an early single ring and change razors every 3 days when I change blades.

Lea Stick (grated)
Vulfix 404 handle / TGN 22mm Finest knot
ATT M2 Kronos
Personna Lab Blue (4)
Penhaligon's Opus 1870 ASB
Penhaligon's Opus 1870 EDT

4th shave with the Lab Blue blade yet still exceptionally smooth and close. Pondering whether to give it a 5th shot tomorrow...

Have a great evening everyone!
