S.O.T.D Saturday 6th July to Friday 12th July 2013

Evening, everyone.

Tuesday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89 with iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (11)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: Kiss My Face unscented
A/S: Pashana Bay Rum
Cologne: Perfume Parlour's Neroli Port

Really good shave today.

Tabac shaving stick
Rotbart No. 20 with Supermax Blue Diamond
EJ boar
Blue Stratos a/s

Really nice shave. Very close, as well... surprisingly for a Supermax. Blue Stratos is nice but less than five minutes later I can't smell it. I had a bottle as a ten year old (he donated it to me gladly from his unwanted xmas presents drawer) and that stuff lasted half hour.

TUESDAY EVENING

Prep: Cold rinse
Soap: Proraso - face lathered
Brush: Coates Fitzwilliam
Razor: Kai Excelia
Blade: Feather Proguard
Post: Alcolado Glacial

One pass down, one pass up. Bosh, bosh, schoom, schoom. Jobsagoodun!

Tuesday 9th July

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: NF 2041
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Astra SP (2)- single shim
Post: Witch hazel, Steve's Bay Rum, RSC Post Shave Balm.

Good shave. Last use of this blade, and although I've discovered it's not as awful as I once thought, I won't take it past 2 shaves as it was a bit tuggy. Sputnik up next.

Prep: Real Shaving Co. face scrub
Brush: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth ebony synthetic bristle
Soap: Erasmic soap bowl
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Classic
Razor: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth barley chrome
Post: Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna

Nice to use the Wilkinson Sword Classic blade, a smooth shave. I have an excuse to use my Boots Advantage card. And the Erasmic soap bowl creates a great lather, very smooth, and holds together well.

Musgo Real glyce classic soap
Dubl Duck special No.1
Morris & Forndran stubby 2XL
Inghams Shaving Cream
Penhaligons Lavandula

Not bad.

Wednesday:

LEA soap stick
Semogue 2012 SE
Long Comb New/JEC handle
Rapira Sedish Supersteel
Witch Hazel
DR Harris Windsor AS and EdT

All good, nice and smooth

Wednesday x July, 2013

Prep: Hot shower, Savon de Provence Shea Butter soap
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Plisson Burgundy Pur Blaireau
Cream: Musgo Real Lime Basil
Razor: English Aristocrat Open Comb (I believe it is a #15)
Blade: English Wilkinson Sword NOS
Post: Liz Earle ASB

Result: My fully restored Aristocrat arrived yesterday all shiny and gleaming, so I had to take it for a spin this morning. Slipped in a NOS English Wilkinson Sword blade and off we went. Feels superb in the hand, weighty and the knurling feels and looks so classy. Shave was very nice indeed and looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.

All the best,

Jon

Lentheric SS (old stuff)
Neutrogena oil free moisture

Fifth or sixth shave with this fine old Wilkinson.......about as good as a blade gets. I need to find more of the Lentheric pretty soon.......just about gone.

I reckon this soap is even better using a synthetic brush. Great performance again and blade still as sharp as day 1.
